Then the attractive Taylor turns the tables and lures Daniel out from behind the safety of his camera, and as Daniel finds himself fighting off an attraction he can't deny, he realizes he's in danger of being caught. Will the camera expose truths about himself that he wants to keep hidden?

Lea's Review :

Caught is a captivating story. On the surface the story is engaging, heartwarming and downright funny in spots. Digging a bit deeper, each of the main characters has a need to leave something behind in order to move forward in their lives.

A tragic event leaves Connie determined to find a way to keep history from repeating itself. She is disabled and needs assistance to implement her plan; Daniel fills that role. What a great character Connie is! High spirited, determined and funny, she has a plan for how to best handle the situation at the cliff and Daniel’s situation as well. She touches more lives from her apartment than many walking around out in the world.

Daniel is a complex character. He is kind, sincere and funny, but there is an underlying sadness about him. I think his T-shirt that has the words; “I’m only two people short of a Ménage à Trois” says a great deal about Daniel. The words are humorous, but carry a message of underlying loneliness. When Daniel decides to rescue Taylor from Graham, a whole other side of Daniel is on display for Taylor to appreciate. A. B. Gayle’s sense of humor must have been in high gear as she wrote the scene with Daniel and Graham. It is a laugh out loud scene.

Taylor is an alpha-male type of guy. When he orders Daniel to do something, Daniel can’t help but comply…except for sharing the secret he has with Connie. Taylor’s sadness is almost palpable and his explanation of the tears shed during the photo shoot brought tears to my eyes, too. He has made an effort to get past his sadness and guilt, but has become stuck.

This is such a good story and the characters really come to life. At about 120 pages, it doesn’t take long to read but certainly makes a lasting impression. And not to worry, the ending will bring a smile to your face.

Shivaree by Cara McKenna is as steamy and sultry as the deep South.

As soon as Natalie steps into the Shivaree, she is instantly attracted to the enigmatic and charismatic musician, Gabriel. Gabriel quickly sets his sights on Natalie, and the sexual chemistry between them is undeniable. It does not take long for Natalie to feel the animosity directed at her from Gabriel’s equally sexy lover, Shane. With no place nearby to spend the night, Natalie accepts the men’s offer to stay with them. When Shane walks in on Natalie and Gabriel’s wildly passionate tryst, Natalie invites Shane to join them.

Shivaree is an incredibly sensual read, and it is impossible to put down. Shane is an intense character who resents his powerful and helpless sexual attraction to Gabriel, but he finds he is incapable of walking away from him. On the other end of the spectrum, Gabriel has an uncanny ability to keep his emotions free from his sexual entanglements. Natalie is refreshingly honest both with herself and the two men she finds herself wildly attracted to. Shivaree has an almost mystical feel to it with a hint of underlying melancholy as Shane fights to understand his strong desire for the unfaithful yet magnetic Gabriel.

Strong character development, deep emotions, and highly erotic sex combine to make Shivaree by Cara McKenna a compelling novella. Read Shane and Gabriel’s story in Backwoods, Ms. McKenna’s prequel to Shivaree.

Lace's Review:

Firebird is a stunning BDSM, but to this reviewer, it is a story with a backdrop of true heart. Annabel Joseph has mastered the technique of a true BDSM, D/s relationship.

My pulse raced when Jackson first took Prosper to that special place only a great Dom can. The story moved so well, I was able to keep my place. I felt all the amazing scenes as if I were there. Ms. Joseph’s talent for capturing the reader along with the scene blows me away.
Prosper is truly one character that will pull in any reader. She has drive plus a soft side that draws you to her. I like that Ms. Joseph gave us Proper’s past, as it really helped me understand her character better.

Jackson is just WOW! Talk about one strong character. I do think that his control with Prosper is what made this book. Dang it! I was melting away after the rope scene. I have to say there were a few times I wanted to hate him; but it was a love/hate thing.

Ms. Joseph, where did you come up with this plotline? I know that being a ballerina is one study in which discipline is a must. This is one of the reasons I was able to stay with the book as I read. I had to see where you were taking Jackson and Prosper. I found it interesting enough that you did not even entertain a BDSM club for this book. You more or less just kept it D/s at home, which is nice touch.

Are there more books linked to this one? If so, are the other books standalones? I am captivated with your writing style and would enjoy reading more.

If you are willing to try a book in the BDSM or D/s genre, then Firebird by Annabel Joseph is a wonderful must read. You will be blown away.

Lea's Review:

Revelation is the second book of Lauren Dane’s De La Vega Cats series. Trinity is the first and to fully appreciate Revelation I think it would be better to have read Trinity.

It isn’t only the intriguing storyline but also the exploration and development of relationships, the moving dialogue and relatable characters that make this book a joy to read. For example, Max says these beautiful words to Kendra when she most needs to hear them.

“Let me be your family. Let me possess you, but let you be free to be who you are. I respect that you have a job to do, even if it does scare the crap out of me. I will be at your side when you find and confront your father. Let me love you. Be mine. Will you? And I’ll be yours. This can be our house. Our bed. The seeds of our family right here. I won’t pressure you anymore about it, but I want you to know it’s what I’d like to have with you. What I want to build for the future.”

How touching is that? It is so comforting to read about characters who choose to be honest with one another, supportive and willing to put time and effort into building a relationship.

Some of the De La Vegas try to push Kendra’s buttons to see whether this little woman can stand her ground. Let’s just say that when she is finished with them, they can answer that question without any hesitation.

Not all the relationships in Revelation are sweet. There are witches and bigots and evil relatives. Kendra and Renee’s mother was murdered by their father and his girlfriend who are now trying to suck the magick from the girls. No one is safe from the expanding situation of humans who would destroy all shifters, vampires, witches and anyone else who might be considered different.

There are difficult and sad moments as family members have to make difficult decisions about family members who have made disastrous choices, but the overall feeling I was left with was that with love and devotion among family and friends, good can overcome evil.

There is exceptional joy, remarkable courage and some unexpected pain in this story, and isn’t that part of what helps keep us on the edge of our seats as we read Lauren Dane’s books? From the way Revelation ends, it is clear there is another book on the De La Vega Cats in the making, and I am looking forward to it!

MacKenzie’s Review:

Angel and the Assassin is an edge of your seat ride that leaves you wondering whether either or both of these characters will end up murdered by the end of the story.

The characters development is good and the flow is smooth and consistent taking you quickly from one scene to another. Figuring out each of these characters as the story progresses is half the fun. I had trouble with Angel's responses in some situations toward the beginning…things were just too easy and why would he do the things he did, but as you get into Angel's background and psychology you can at least understand why he made some of the choices that he did, rational though they may not be to your average person.

Kael's character was incredibly multi-dimensional. I'm fairly certain he didn't even understand some of his complexities at the beginning of this tale. He thought he was a fairly simple, hard-as-nails assassin without a conscience…and he's at least partially correct, that's for sure. But through this story we find him to be so much more.

The sex scenes were all BDSM-based and extremely erotic, well-written, and creatively plotted. They moved each piece of the puzzle forward to the conclusion.

Angel and the Assassin is my first Fyn Alexander story, but I can guarantee I'll be on the lookout for another in the future.

MacKenzie’s Review:

Mastering Marissa is a fascinating story from beginning to end. It's fast paced and action packed without a dull moment to be found. From the moment Marissa steps foot on Darinth you never know what is going to happen next. And although you figure out fairly quickly that Kytar won't harm Marissa, you don't know what he's going to do to meet his end goal…or for that matter, what perils Marissa will end up putting them into with her ignorance of Darinthian magic.

The scenes between Marissa and Kytar are smoking hot. As Marissa puts up a fight, her argument for release is the same throughout the story…'let me go'…so it would seem as if the scenes would get stale as the story progressed, but this is not the case at all. Each phase of the story brings unique scenes and interactions between these characters and unique responses on the part of both characters.

The BDSM scenes were clever and fresh, and I can't wait to see what Cyna Kade has in store for us in the sequel to Marissa's story, Linking Shelly.

Saturday Night Special by Mari Carr is a madcap, wacky adventure but that is to be expected since this is wild child Riley Collins’ book!

When Riley takes off for a weekend in Las Vegas with friend Trevor Blankenship, it is good friend and cop, Aaron Young who flies to Vegas to keep her out of trouble. Aaron finds Riley drunker than a skunk, but when she confesses she wants her happily ever after like the rest of her siblings, he whisks her away to an all night Wedding Chapel and with Elvis presiding and they tie the knot. Before the honeymoon fun begins, Aaron and Riley have to track down Trevor and his gold-digging stripper before his estranged wife gets hold of him. And that is when their Vegas escapade takes on a life of its own!

Saturday Night Special perfectly captures the spirit of Riley Collins. Riley lives life to the fullest, and she opens her heart to everyone she meets. Aaron is a lot more cautious, easy going, and, well, just an all around nice guy. While Riley’s feelings for Aaron may have been platonic, the same cannot be said for Aaron. When Aaron catches a glimpse of the vulnerable woman that her life of the party exterior hides, he decides it is time to take a gamble on love. Before long, Riley discovers that in the bedroom, Aaron is a take charge kind of man, and much to her surprise, she finds that to be a huge turn on for her.

Buckle your seat belt, sit back, and enjoy the ride. Saturday Night Special by Mari Carr is a light-hearted, fun, super sexy novel, and you will love it as much I did.

Lea's Review :

I really enjoyed reading this book! Sophie Oak is an up and coming author with a gift for writing romance with comedy and a touch of BDSM tossed into the mix just to keep everyone whipped into shape. Siren in the City is the second book in the Texas Sirens series. I fell in love with these characters in the first book, Small Town Siren, and have been eagerly awaiting this next installment of their lives together; and it was totally worth the wait. Sophie Oak gives us angst, love, reunion, Dom/subs relationships, humor, a private club, amazing sex, and BDSM play all wrapped up in a great story.

As the book begins, Jack has been struggling for six months through terrible nightmares and fears related to a situation when he almost lost Abby to a deranged shooter. Even though he took the bullet himself, he continues to have fear and guilt over the idea that he isn’t able to keep those he loves safe. He makes a huge mistake in not talking to Abby and Sam about what is happening to him and basically shuts down as part of their ménage and as their Dom. Abby and Sam love and need Jack and know that something has to change before their relationship falls apart.

Jack, Sam and Abby are remarkable characters. The difficult situations they lived through as young people have given them the ability to face life’s challenges head-on. When the going gets tough Abby is a woman not afraid to put her high heeled foot down or pull up her big girl panties, or she would if Jack would allow her to wear panties. Sam is a man of passion, a scrapper and survivor who loves both Jack and Abby with every fiber of his being. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them, including leaving if he thought that would make their lives better. Jack and Julian have a long history, a loyal friendship and mutual respect for one another as men and as Doms, and the descriptions of power they wield with just their presence or a simple word puts chills up and down my spine.

Even though there are two serious storylines in Siren in the City the humor that runs through the book had me laughing out loud. Abby’s reaction to being outed by a blackmailer is hysterical, the shopping, the cube and on and on…I loved it all. And the ending is perfect!

You could read this as a stand-alone, but why would you? The Texas Sirens series is fun, enjoyable and sexy as all get out!

Penny’s Review:

Another Border by K. I. L. Kenny is a sweet story that allows us a tiny glimpse into the life of a couple in a long term relationship. What stood out for me was the love, care and respect Jeff and Ed had for each other and also showed each other.

In this case it was Jeff who knew exactly how to get Ed to open up and share what happened during his work shift without Ed getting “pissy.”

I was impressed with how much character information and plot that K. I. L. Kenny managed to fit into such as short story. Skillful writing made sure that everything needed to enjoy this story was included.

I love reading stories about established couples that know each other so well and aren’t afraid to use that knowledge for a great outcome. A quick read but well worth it.

Ashley's Review:

To be completely honest, this is my first, ever m/m romance and I have to say, I'm quite surprised. I was expecting it to "feel" uncomfortable to me and it was anything but.

Have Hope is very tastefully written and quiet romantic. Thanks to Ms. Moreton, I now have a whole new perspective on m/m romance and I'm glad I had the chance to read this one.

If you're anything like me, not sure you'd like the m/m romance, you should give this book a try. I think you'll be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Have Hope is quite enjoyable and romantic. Emily Moreton put together a great story!

Summary:

My first thought upon starting this book was this is one sexy story and everything that I read after that confirmed the opinion over and over again. Actually, the blurb is where I really started drooling over the sexy warrior and his vampire doctor, but getting to know the characters brought to life by Joyee Flynn was a real treat. Man! Those vampire warriors are something else... even better is that Micah’s six brothers are also warriors. Ooh la la. To say that I’m looking forward to reading the other stories in this series is a major understatement.

Micah; now there’s a sexy, sexy man... uh, vampire. I love that he’s not afraid to love a man, even though he’s never ever been attracted to one before. There’s something about Riley that supersedes gender and whatever it is Micah wants him... now and forever. He’s a fierce warrior, but he’s also extremely protective of those he loves and now Riley is under his protection. Micah’s pretty much an ‘it-is-what-it-is’ kinda guy and, for the most part, he’s fairly laid-back... until something happens to his Riley. Not a pretty scene.

Riley, wow! His life has been anything but easy. The only one in his life is his grandmother and for her he’d do anything. When he first sees Micah he’s, hmmm, gobsmacked comes to mind as a reaction. And then to realize that this warrior is his mate, but not gay really sends him for a loop. He’s spent years and years keeping his heart protected and now, in one fell swoop, Riley’s finding that the walls he’s built aren’t sufficient to keep Micah out.

I adore both Micah and Riley, even though they are so very different, but they are each extremely loyal, dedicated and have a strong belief in family. Joyee Flynn has come up with two characters that take my breath away and I dearly hope that we get to see more of them in the future. After all, they’re both part of the Marius clan now.

The proliferation of vampire stories over the past few years has made me a very happy reader; a statement which, a few years ago, I would have strongly refuted. But along the way I discovered that not all vampire stories are created equal. Ms. Flynn’s world of vamps is definitely among my favourites. I love that these aren’t bloodsucking, soul-destroying monsters. Well, yes they need blood, but they’re not out wantonly destroying... okay well some of them are—hence the need for the warriors—but then any ‘race’ has it’s good guys and it’s bad guys and in romantic adventures you’ve got to have ‘em both. And in this most tempting tale—Micah—there’s adventure, battles and a hot and very sexy romance. What more could a fan of the genre want? Ms. Flynn has earned another fan and I couldn’t be happier. Now, if I could just get the rest of the stories now. *grin*

House Sitting by M. Durango is a fun, sexy, light read.

Justin has tried his best to get into Ray Kimble’s pants over the past several years, but Ray has always resisted. Justin tries to convince him yet again to give him a chance, but Ray’s last relationship ended badly, and he’s now convinced he’s not boyfriend material. When Justin injures his ankle rescuing Ray’s mischievous kitten, Molly, he finally gets past Ray’s defenses. But will their summer loving give way to a lasting relationship?

I really enjoyed seeing Justin’s newfound maturity in dealing with Ray. When Ray is reluctant to be more than friends, Justin backs off and enjoys their friendship. Justin is quick to take advantage of Ray’s offer to care for him after he breaks his ankle, but it does not take much to convince Ray to finally act on their mutual desire for another. Their simmering attraction quickly boils over into full-fledged passion, but they continue to take their time in moving on to a more lasting relationship.

If you are looking for a quick, angst free read, then House Sitting by M. Durango is the short story for you. You will love Justin, Ray, and Mollie as much as I did!

Winston Quirk by Martin Delacroix forces Dane Barger to closely examine his prejudices and decide if he can set them aside for love.

Even though he has not been attracted to African American men in the past, Dane finds himself drawn to Winston Quirk as soon as he sees him at a community softball game. He comes to Winston’s rescue when he is attacked for being on the island after dark. After patching him up, Dane invites Winston to stay the night with him, and they share an explosive night of passion. Upon awakening the following morning, Dane is plagued with misgivings about his involvement with a black man.

Martin Delacroix handles the delicate issue of race relations in the mid 70s quite skillfully. I do not believe that Dane is racially biased. I think he is more concerned about people’s perceptions of him dating a man of color. Dane is quite honest with Winston about his doubts for their relationship but when Winston finds his life in danger, Dane shows the true strength of his character and backs him regardless of the consequences.

Winston Quirk by Martin Delacroix is a thought-provoking story. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I would love to see a follow up of what happens between Dane and Winston once Dance returns to FL.

Kathy’s Review Review:

The Pavilion by Tracy Rowan is story that inspires hope. Despite the loss that Eliot suffered, he is willing to open up his heart to the possibilities of a future with Jamie.

I find it hard to believe that The Pavilion is a short story because it spans seven years. Through flashbacks, Ms. Rowan reveals the heartache Eliot endured with the death of his partner, Clive. Eliot leaves behind everything in his past, relocates to Chicago and takes a sabbatical from medicine. During this time of healing, he becomes a driving force in revitalizing his dying neighborhood, and when he begins to practice medicine again, he stays close to home. Even though Eliot is not sure he is ready to leave himself open to the pain that comes with loving someone, he finds he cannot resist Jamie.

Despite its somber overtones, The Pavilion is actually fairly light-hearted and upbeat. The pervasive atmosphere of the story is hope, and I savored Ms. Rowan’s every word. Eliot proves that, with time, overcoming tragedy can often lead life in a different, yet even more fulfilling and meaningful, direction.

Homecoming, A Jarheads Story by Sean Michael perfectly captures the spirit of military (and ex military) men and women. When duty calls, they answer regardless of their personal life. The separation from loved ones is never easy, but the Homecoming makes their sacrifice worthwhile.

Take it Slow by Taylor Lochland is a superb story about taking a chance on love despite past heartache.

Graham feels an instant attraction to his orthopedic doctor, Dmitri Markov. It has been two years since his partner, Brian, passed away, but he has not re-entered the dating world. When the two men run into each other at the Cherry Festival, they enjoy the rest of the day with one another. Back home, the relationship progresses, but Dmitri still finds it impossible to act on his desire for Graham.

Whether it is entering a marathon before an injury is healed or rushing straight into a physical relationship with a new person, Take it Slow by Taylor Lochland flawlessly illustrates the intrinsic worth of patience.

Wow - simply stated. This story is - I am not sure I can even do the story justice by trying to tell you how this book made me feel - just wow.

This is a super short read - but I promise you - wow will be one word you use to describe this book. It is just that good....

Summer Chase is a woman with a hurtful past. Losing her lover, her best friend and her husband was very difficult. Getting over losing him has not been easy. Some days are good and some not so good. But I admire her. She is a strong woman. Knowing that living in the past is not healthy for her, she tries to live for her future. But living for the uncertainty of the future is hard. Having to deal with the moving on process, Summer took the house her and her late husband once shared and turned it into a Chase Bed & Breakfast to stay afloat. You know... pay bills, put food on the table, clothes on her back, roof over her head. That kind of stuff. Again admiring her for her continuing to move forward no matter what lies ahead.

Gage is just trying to escape his everyday life as a private investigator. He seeks refuge at a bed and breakfast his aunt persuaded him to go to. Gage is a strong, tall and gorgeous bald, tattooed man. Did I mention delicious and wicked? He is perfectly fine with the way life is going... until he knocks on the door of Chase Bed & Breakfast.... Then all hell breaks loose!

Like I said, this is a very short story (under 55 pgs)... But let me tell you, Ms. Rainey did an awesome job at making me want Summer as my best friend and coveting her man! We could share!!! In between those pages, you will find heart break, pulse racing, hot and kinky sex and down right out.... well... You will have to read! it

Do you believe in lust at first sight? Do you believe in lust giving away to love? Or do you believe that once you’ve lost a love one, those loves should not open again?

Breathe Into Me is an excellent short story that I truly enjoyed reading. Jenna Jones has written an engaging story of healing and love.

The main characters, Caleb and Sasha, were lovers in high school but lost touch after Caleb moved away. Their lives have taken divergent paths, with Caleb ending up in the high pressure world of sales and Sasha as a Yoga Master.

While we all know that change comes from within, we also know that proper motivation can be very helpful. Caleb finds that Sasha’s heartfelt words and emotion have provided him with outstanding motivation.

This is a wonderful love story. Slow down, take a deep breath and enjoy.

Lea's Review:

Live By The Sword, A Dragonwalker Story is a very enjoyable short story. Part of the Dragonwalker series, I initially had some concerns about whether I would be able to follow the story without having to read the other books. No worries. The author, Lee Benoit, does a great job of feeding enough information into the tale bit by bit to give a new reader everything necessary to enjoy this story.

To begin with, I find the concept of Dragon Dogs to be an interesting one. Dogs that can sprout wings, belch smoke and fly? What a fun idea.

Drake, a Dragon Dog who is also a guide dog to David, has ingested some nasty pesticides and needs some help from the town vet, Thayer. David and Thayer have unaddressed feelings for one another. As the two men get to know one another much better, Thayer makes some very interesting discoveries about David.

Bug is part of this sweet story, too. An abused child, Bug is desperately in need of something more than bandages for his cuts and bruises. He has been working with the Dragon Dogs and seems to have a knack for helping care for one in particular.

This is a sweet story with an HEA ending that had me sighing deeply with the last paragraph. I will be going over to Lee Benoit’s website very soon to check out the other books in this series.

You Don’t Need a Doctor is a very funny short story about an ER doctor who has a rather unusual medical situation develop with a patient. A few days later the patient has an even more unusual way of thanking the doctor for his assistance. To say more would be to ruin the fun of the story.

I wonder what it says about me that I had no problem believing the paranormal parts of the story but shook my head at the thought that a patient, no matter how fast or what the species, could escape from a hospital without being stopped by the paperwork people. LOL

This is a light quick read, just right for lunchtime or an evening treat.

Some Good Doctoring is a fun short story in BA Tortuga’s Roughstock series.

A crazed cowboy loses control in the rodeo’s Sports Medicine Room and hits Jonesy, the senior clinician. CB is incensed, handles the cowboy and then offers what could, I suppose, be considered a form of alternative medicine to Jonesy. It seems to be a successful therapy because Jonesy is certainly able to forget how much he hurts and focus on something else.

If you are a Roughstock fan, you won’t want to miss this tender connection between Jonesy and CB. And if you haven’t read any of the Roughstock books yet, but you’re a fan of sexy cowboys having cowboy sex, you will enjoy this story, too.

The Boyfriend Line is an excellent short story.

The author, Avery Zeno, has created characters who are both believable and likeable. After a misunderstanding is ironed out, the relationship between David and Rafe moves forward to become what they both want and need.

The emotional turmoil and physical difficulties that takes place as the characters deal with a difficult medical situation is refreshing in its honesty.

This story is sweet without being saccharine and touching without being maudlin.

The Boyfriend Line is a love story that works.

This is my first Vivian Arend book and will not be my last... of course not. Because now, I HAVE to read the rest of this series. Ms. Arend did a wonderful job of setting up the storyline, engrossing me with characters and their lives and just plain pulling me in and leaving me wanting more.

This is a very interesting paranormal read. It will take you out of the normal realm of what you are use to reading. I was truly delighted with Ms. Arend's writing voice. This story had me admiring my heroine, laughing my asre off with her sarcasm and loving her witty come backs! Then of course there are the hero and his brother of this story... OH MAN... Wooohooooo... Let me tell you when I say they are Hot... they are hot! They make me want to find my own werewolf mate! The loyal devotion from them, the possessiveness of each other and the explosive sex!! Oh yeah... Ms. Arend knows how to write some hot sex in a short story!

Craving peace and quiet is what Robyn wants more than anything. An experienced skier, she heads out for her favorite location, the Yukon wilderness in an effort to get away from her job, the demands of her life and just the daily grind of "talking" to people. Robyn thought she would be alone, which was perfect! She got to the camp site and was amazed that someone has kind of spruced up the place by adding a shower and sauna building. Now that is perfect! Now on to her perfect retreat... or so she thought until she walked out of the sauna buck naked.... and ran smack into... "Something tall and hard and covered in.... Gore-Tex?"

Keil and TJ just wanted a few days away from their pack. Yep, pack... They are wolves. Looking to head to the camp site for a few days of just being surrounded by nature and each other, at least that’s what they were looking for. Not a naked woman coming out of the sauna! Or a mate either.

Dealing with the stepping down of their old leaders, Keil knew where he stood in the order line. He knew this was his chance... but he is also up against Jack, a worthy opponent. But if he won, he knew that Jack's direction of leadership would not be for the best interest of the pack but instead for Jack. Now, mix his conflicting emotions about the leadership direction of his pack with him happening upon his mate in the middle of the woods and a challenge presents itself. But what was more challenging was learning of his mate's hearing condition.

These three characters are all fun loving, sexy as hell and will make you giggle a few times. Oh and they will make you sweat more than if you were in the sauna with them ((evil laughter)). Robyn is a very independent woman, even suffering her hearing loss as a child; she is capable of anything. But feeling like odd man out with her adoptive parents and brother... she always felt a little like something was missing. Well... in the short span of a few days, Robyn's finds out something about herself that she has never known. However she takes it all in stride; which amazed me. I think I would have kind of freaked out a bit regarding all the information she had to deal with. But then having the hots for one of the sexiest men alive... well... There are upsides to everything, right!

This story is short, so as a result the events occurred at a fast pace, which if you know me, I do not judge a book based on those qualities... So, I give the author credit for a job well done. Her storyline was very appealing, which means I will be reading more. Her character development was awesome because now I want to see if TJ gets his story. In addition, I want to know if Robyn and Keil have a proper "honeymoon"... oh wait... Marriage first. Oh wait, does that happen in the paranormal world... or would that be the hot explosive mating sex?? Oh yeah, that is another thing Ms. Arend did an awesome job with! The way these two went about "getting together" did not feel forced or manipulated. The flow felt natural under the circumstances. And if you read paranormal, you know that finding one's mate is the key to their world and once found they stop at nothing to claim what’s rightfully theirs. Now do you want your own wolf? I know I do! Great job Ms. Arend!

Tell No Lies by G.H. Worth is a fast paced read with an interesting plot and likable characters.

Winston Morgan has decided enough is enough with his daughter, Emily, setting him up on blind dates with women. He tells her in no uncertain terms to butt out of his love life, and he visits a gay bar hoping to meet Mr. Right. DJ Faulkner is a career Army officer who has reached the conclusion he would rather have a partner to share his life than continue living the lonely life of a soldier. Winston and DJ meet at a bar and their hot hook up quickly becomes a serious relationship, but, as is often the case, they find a few complications on the way to happily ever after.

G. H. Worth packs Tell No Lies with an interesting variety of issues. Winston Morgan is a bisexual man with a daughter who doesn’t know he’s gay, and a bitchy ex-wife, Janet. With DJ Faulkner, Ms. Worth brings the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” issue to the forefront as DJ struggles with living a closeted life so he can defend his country. The “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” plotline is interesting, but it becomes a little preachy and ends fairly quickly. Winston and DJ’s biggest obstacle is Winston’s reluctance to come out to Emily and her refusal to accept his requests to keep out of his love life.

Ms. Worth is a very descriptive writer but some of the dialogue between DJ and Winston is repetitive and awkward. Some of the chapters end rather abruptly with their resolution occurring a few chapters later which sometimes makes the novel difficult to follow. DJ’s previous relationships were limited to impersonal one night stands which lead to several jealousy issues that seem at odds with his usual self-confidence.

All of the characters are very well developed and for the most part, likable. Winston’s relationship with his best friend from high school, Lyndsay is enjoyable, and she is refreshingly honest with him. DJ has a strong bond with his cousin, Ellis, and he encourages DJ to go after what he wants. The chemistry between DJ and Winston is explosive and leads to several hot and varied sex scenes.

If you are looking for a quick read with sizzling hot sex, Tell No Lies by G. H. Worth is the book for you!

I really enjoyed reading Edge of Heaven by PG Forte. The story is written in first person present tense from Edge’s point of view. I actually enjoyed being in Edge’s head and found his thoughts to be quite insightful at revealing his character and flaws and at times they were simply very funny.

I thought the plot was well thought out with enough twists included so that the story didn’t get boring and to be honest I never saw the twist at the end coming. On thinking back after finishing the story there were a few clues but none that gave me an “ah ha” moment as I read. For me this was a good thing because I don’t always like to know what’s coming.

I liked both of the main characters and with the story written in first person we of course learn mostly about Edge but I feel Ms Forte did a good job with letting us get to know Mattie through his conversations and Edge’s observations.

The pace of the story was good, the sex was hot and I loved the ending.

If you are new to the m/m pool – these are two excellent authors to start out with. You really need to put these two authors on your MUST buy list.

This story touched me with how personal it felt. We are pulled into Rob and Max's world and not let go until the past page. They have been lover's for six years and counting... As we all know from our own personal relationships - after so many years, sometimes we second guess ourselves and the relationship. Well, that is where Rob is. His conscience won't let go of the fact that Max's wants a little more from him. But Rob seems to put up a wall every time Max pushes the boundaries. They argue and put just a little more distance in between each other. Or at least that is how Rob sees it.

Rob evaluates how much he truly wants the relationship he has with Max, the love of his life. He makes a decision that could possible blow up in his face... Would you do that for love? Would you call it quits if you were pushed just a little? Or, would you fight for what you truly want - the love of your life?

This is an emotional love story. Ms. Brynes and Mr. Mason did an awesome job at making me fall in love with Rob and Max. At one point I wanted to hug Rob and tell him all will be okay and at the same time I wanted to slap Max (just once... okay maybe twice). Okay, I can't go on any more or I would give away the story....

So I will leave you with you with this..... What would you risk for love?

Dark Citadel is the second book in the Shadowland series. Such a powerful addition, I am almost willing to say this is my favorite but, I will wait to see what Cherise Sinclair has in store for these amazing Dom’s and the subs who love them.

This book flowed so well in that you are able to keep tabs with all the characters. I connected so well with them to the point that I felt myself wanting to slap Master Dan a few times. *grin*

Master Dan is a cop who lost his wife in a car accident. Never has he allowed a sub to capture his attention before. Now one little sub turns his world up-side down.

Kari is a true delight. A school teacher she has always felt as if something was missing. Coming from a strict upbringing, it was drummed into her that sex was a sin. So then why did she start having fantasies about Master Dan? Well it was Newbie Night at the Shadow Lands Club. The next 48 hrs are anything but boring.

Master Dan and Kari’s story is a delicious treat. I enjoyed seeing all the characters back from book one, which made the plotline and book more enjoyable.

Next is Nolan’s book I know, but when do we finally get Cullen’s story. Cullen is going to be my undoing I just know it. {Insert evil laugh here}
I have so many questions regarding the research aspect of this series. Did you go inside a BDSM club to help you with the layout, or was it all done from books and the internet? One of the big draws for me besides the yummy Dom and amazing sex, is that Cherise Sinclair describes every detail to help us understand what every step means. It is like getting a lesson ourselves. *Thank you* for that.

Tarsilla’s Review:

Rough Cut, by Mari Carr, is an amazingly hawt read! I loved the characters, the plot, the writing, and most of it all, the flaming sex scenes! While some BDSM stories can sound really rough and forced, this erotica was so smoothly done it just flowed, making it all seem natural and very desirable.

What makes Rough Cut exceptional, however, are the two main characters, Ty and Gwen. Ty Ransome has to be the most possessive, dominating, incredibly sexual man I’ve ever seen in an erotic romance book. Gwen Preston is truly a special submissive. While she loves submitting to Ty’s commands, she also has this rebellious streak inside her that surprises Ty at every turn, keeping him on edge and their sex sizzling off the pages. The character development in this book is also amazing, especially Gwen’s blooming from an innocent girl who was completely terrified of her dark and “forbidden” desires, to a strong independent woman who embraces herself and who she is by Ty’s side. The plot is dynamic and fun, and completely suits these formidable characters.

One thing I thought could be improved was the pacing. I was a little bit unconvinced by how fast the story developed. For instance, while Gwen’s growth as a woman is perfectly done, the rate at which she changed was sort of awkward. One minute she is fighting the irresistible attraction between her and Ty, and the next they are in his bedroom ready to reenact her short stories. In contrast, while the story itself moves too fast for the depth this plot presents, Ty’s surprisingly fast fall for Gwen is very realistic, mainly due to Gwen’s multi-layered personality that makes her a very likable and intriguing woman.

Overall, this is must-read erotica that will leave you breathless and wanting more.

Sofi's Review:

...Finally, it dawned on me what he had done. "You Lojacked me."

"Every minute of every day. How many times do I have to tell you your ass is mine."

"You Lojacked my ass?"

Not many books can deliver good romance, good plot and fantastic lines that leave you smiling.

But you know, when you get to page 117 of a 253 page book and it's all still happy families, that something nasty is in the works. Every page could bring the disaster, every new character could be the villain. Every little twist in the path could lead to the part of the story that will have you cursing the author for character cruelty. I've discovered Ms. Brown is a master of that particular kind of suspense. As each little shock turns out to be innocuous, you're torn between relaxing and letting your guard down...always a bad plan...or getting even jumpier waiting for the other shoe to fall. It's what books that are impossible to put down are made of.

Does she deliver with suitable mayhem and angst, or does she lead up to an anti-climax that will leave the reader disappointed, strung out on tension that never gets released? That's the question right there.

And of course, Ms. Brown delivers with her usual unflinching, gut-wrenching accuracy. She makes things hard for her characters. Then she begins her story, gives them a reason to be uncertain, gives them something to fear, then introduces the twist that plunges them into the shit and takes away their shovel. She's like that. Is it cruel? Maybe. Can her characters take it? As you read through, you think possibly not.

But where would the story be if everyone died at the end? So what if they almost die, literally, emotionally, figuratively, whatever. They never lose sight of life, love or winning through. She took both Spider and Jason out of their elements and forced them to recognize the difficulties inherent in being on the other side of that D/s dynamic and in the end, really appreciate what they have in each other. It’s amazing work, because it works on so many levels; the suspense, the romance, the adventure, the angst.

To be perfectly honest, I put off reading this. I was afraid. Afraid I'd be let down after loving the first book so much. I don't know why I was worried. When hasMs. Brown ever let me down?

Loved it! Love Jason. Want Spider. Well, a version of him, anyway. Everyone should read this book, especially if you like D/s. And it isn't the sex. There's hardly any to speak of. It's the love, the commitment, the work her characters put into their relationship, into each other, and into themselves to make themselves worthy of what the other is giving. The dynamic created in the bedroom in the first book is seriously carried through to life for these men in the second book in ways that, to my mind, are realistically true to a loving D/s relationship. Anyone who thinks women can`t write gay romance needs to read this book. She worked magic again. I am humbled for ever doubting.

My Recommendation: Just read it.

Yes! Finally, a good quality, hawt as hell, leave you breathless f/f/m ménage story! All for Shayla is so scorching, you will definitely need a shower after reading it.

First of all, this short story has a surprisingly perfect pace. The plot is simple, therefore it is easy to fall in the trap of rushing through the events, but Ms. Ava McKnight did it just right, moving through the memorable night between Keith, Carla, and Shayla with such flawless flow and skill, it truly seems like more time passed than it actually did. Also, the plot development is nicely done, and I was terribly impressed by how she managed to include such rich details about Shayla’s background into the story without disrupting the flow, and even managing to add depth to the story, making it richer than it already is.

Next, the characters are truly amazing. Shayla is that good proper Southern girl who wants to break away from her responsibilities and be bad for a night. However, even though at first glance she seems like a total cliché, her character is in fact so well written, everything about her is genuine and exciting. Keith, again, seems like your clichéd bad boy, but as the story progresses, you realize he is everything but common; a mixture between a daredevil and a sweetheart, possessiveness and gentleness, and so forth. Whenever Shayla thinks she can predict what he is going to do next, he goes and surprises the hell out of her, and the reader as well, leaving us at the edge throughout their encounter.

However, I was expecting a bit more from Carla. I thought her character’s involvement in the story was way too short and not really fulfilling. While her joining the two was very natural, the way she exited was very awkward. Also, I was a bit unconvinced at how Shayla was so willing to go with Keith. While Ms. McKnight does a very good job at explaining her reasoning behind making Shayla do that, I was still skeptical that that would actually happen in real life.

Alas, this is one smoking hot read. If Ms. McKnight can produce such amazing short stories, I can’t wait to see what a full-blown erotic novel by her would be like.

Nisey’s Awakening by Dakota Trace is simply brilliant. I’m amazed at how Ms. Dakota has turned a sensual, erotic read into an informative manual for novice readers who might be considering the BDSM lifestyle.

Although Nisey is a born submissive, she has yet to find the right Dom that will empower her to explore and learn more about her sexuality and needs not only as a woman, but also as a submissive. That is, until she met Caelan, her best friend’s brother. The man is sexy and sensuous with an Irish brogue that makes him downright dangerous. His dark eyes, lithe body, and keen sense of a woman’s body knows exactly what it takes to train a submissive, or in Nisey’s case, a slave. So, what happens when answering his sister’s best friend’s questions stir up desires that he thought were buried after his last fiasco with a submissive? The more I delved into Nisey’s Awakening, the more engrossed and mesmerized I became not only by Nisey and Caelan, but also by the secondary characters. Olivia, the resident dominatrix is a riot and I for one can’t wait to find out more about her. She was a wonderful source of information for Nisey in regards to the lifestyle and only increased the depth of the story and the relationship between Nisey and Caelan. Kalinda is a wonderful, supportive friend even when Nisey isn’t able to seek the support that she needs from her family. I can’t wait for her to finally give in to Josh’s demands. It’s guaranteed to be one helluva ride if the sexual desires simmering below the surface between these two are any indication of what the future has in store for them. Nisey’s mother was absolutely unbelievable and made me want to knock her upside the head for the stunts that she pulled when Nisey was attacked. I’m amazed how some people will do whatever it takes to keep up societal appearances, even if it means selling out their own child. I loved Nisey’s father and how supportive he was of Nisey, new lifestyle, especially during the difficult times with her mother. I was glad that things worked out for him in the end.

Nisey’s Awakening is an exquisite story about the BDSM lifestyle that had me in awe with the turn of every page. Ms. Trace knocked my socks off by the knowledge that she conveyed in this sensual love story. It’s obvious that she did her research into the BDSM lifestyle, especially considering how she provided an excellent example of what a real Dom should be versus a “wanna be” Dom. I kept thinking that if you’re on the fence about the BDSM lifestyle and you’re not sure what to look for in Dom, Nisey’s Awakening would be the perfect book to read because it’s so informative and eye opening. I really enjoyed how Ms. Trace provided a wonderful balance when reflecting on the good and bad things in the BDSM world, as it’s a true reflection of her excellent writing skills.

If you’re looking for a sensual story that involves the BDSM lifestyle, yet is informative for the novice or even someone who’s been in the lifestyle for while, then Nisey’s Awakening is definitely the book to read. Even days after reading Nisey’s Awakening, I’m amazed and in awe by how wonderful and endearing Ms. Trace’s story regarding Nisey’s journey into the BDSM lifestyle has touched my heart. OMG! Ms. Tenorio knocked my socks off with Lucas and Belinda’s story. Their love hate relationship is so full of passion and sexual tension that you can’t help but curl up on the sofa and indulge in this naughty tale of unrequited love.

Everyone knows that Lucas Lonnigan is the more serious brother of the Lonnigan twins. Easy-going isn’t exactly the word that comes to mind when you look at the sexy, intense, mysterious, and vulnerable man that has been in love with Belinda Riggs since high school. Hell, he’s her biggest fan and always will be to the point that there is nothing that he won’t do to help her in a time of need, especially if it means getting deep into the heart of his one and only true love. What an intense storyline there is in Woman in Chains.

After a rocky start – not the writing or the story, so no worries there – but for the heroine of this book, she had an incredibly rocky start…after that, the ride that we go along at the author's direction makes for quite a page-turner of a story. That's not to say that our hero, Dak, didn't have issues of his own. He was certainly issue-filled and made some very, very poor decisions along the way. Both characters had a lot of growth and development to make it through before finding their happy ending.

Fair warning to all readers, this book isn't light and fluffy by any stretch of the imagination. It has a very dark theme and some intense psychological issues to work through before the satisfying conclusion. And satisfying it was.

I can honestly say that I really and truly disliked our heroine at the beginning…not because she was a dislikable person, but because I couldn't envision a single scenario in which this damaged young woman could end up in a healthy relationship. How was she to be the star of our story? How on earth was an author supposed to work with such a character? She was beyond not ready for any sort of relationship. By the end of the story, I was well and truly in reader-love with both of our main characters and a few of the secondary cast as well. Bridget Midway did a great job of working us through our character's issues to come out on the other side quite happy with the result.

I'd love to read more from this author on the S.A.F.E. organization. I'm sure there are other submissive/Dominant stories out there to be told. How about those secondary characters? Are they to find love as well?

I have been in love with the Nature of Desire series since the very beginning, but Branded Sanctuary is the first story I've gotten to review. The characters in the entire series, as well as this one story, are so well developed that you feel like you're catching up with old friends whenever you start a new tale.

Branded Sanctuary by Joey W. Hill is the seventh book in her Nature of Desire series. Each book could stand alone (with the exception of Marguerite's story, which is two books, and I would certainly say to read those in order)…My point is, if you want to start with Branded Sanctuary and don’t mind reading a series out of order, there is no real reason to delay. But, to get the most out of this story, I would think you'd want all the background.

Nature of Desire is not a series to miss out on if you enjoy reading quality BDSM and the intensity of power exchange.

We've been waiting for Chloe and Brendan's story for a while now and I'm delighted to say that it was exceptional. Chloe's psychological dilemmas were heartfelt and the way in which they were resolved was dramatic and engaging for the reader.

I, for one, can't wait to see what Joey W. Hill has in store for us next in this magnificent series.

MacKenzie’s Review:

This is the first Cyna Kade book I've read and I certainly already have more loaded on my Kindle. Releasing Kate is an intensely erotic novel which is in some regards science fiction and some regard contemporary. Maybe paranormal is a better listing for genre…honestly, I'm just not sure. But, what I do know is Releasing Kate is fascinating from start to finish.

The character development is quite nice. The pace is consistent and smooth. You will find yourself immersed in the story and not even realize how long you've been reading.

I was shocked by some of the twists and turns and enjoyed the way Kate felt her way through an unknown situation to find herself a new person on the other side. What a strong heroine. Michael was both incredibly alpha male yet sensitive to Kate's needs at all times. I rather enjoyed seeing his consternation at figuring out Kate and how to get through to her.

Keep in mind that Releasing Kate can be rather intense at times. If this is something that appeals to you, then be sure to pick up this book.

I can't wait to see what happens in book two in the Power and Pain series and which characters we will meet.

Stormy Glenn is and always will be one of my MUST READ authors and she did not disappoint in His Dirty Little Secret. Ms. Glenn has created a sensual, fast-paced, heart pumping, anxiety driven story that’s guaranteed to make you scream from the miscommunication between Graham and Darren. This heart-warming story about love, loss, and the recapturing of new and old love is absolutely mesmerizing.

The depth of love that Graham and Darren felt for one another, but unable to express other than on a physical level will make you weep for all of the time they lose being together as a couple. While parents seem to think they know what’s best for their children, it obvious that they too can be misguided. I loved Graham’s father, but at times, actually most of the time, found myself wanting to slap some sense into his mother. Some of the trial and tribulations that these men experienced could have been avoided if she had simply kept her opinions and demands to herself. Fortunately, Graham’s father was there to steer him in the right direction when push came to shove and it was imperative that he didn’t lose the love of his life.

Darren is absolutely amazing in his ability to forgive Graham after everything the man puts him through. There were times that I wanted to scream at both of them as they struggled to truly admit what everyone else already knew, that they were head over heels in love with one another. As danger lurks in the background, these men have no idea how close they will come to losing each other before they are able to admit their feelings. It’s true that no one’s promised tomorrow, but when these men are separated shortly after finding one another at Graham’s attempt to protect Darren, you wonder if they will both survive the separation. For instance, Graham begins doing stupid things like putting himself in harms way when he’s unable to locate Darren. It takes a long separation to make him stand up and admit that he loves Darren with everything in his being damn the consequence. But, will they be able to enjoy their new found love before the bad guys take them out, especially considering that there’s a leak in the department? With dirty cops on the take and their lives in imminent danger, who are they to trust?

His Dirty Little Secret is a compelling, well-written story about reaching out for love in spite of what society and family members think. It will make you laugh and weep as these two men fight to survive so that they can live to love each another day. As always, I love when Ms. Glenn allows the secondary characters to join in the fun. It’s a wonderful way to follow-up on what’s happening with each of them as they continue to love one another unconditionally. The secondary characters always increase the depth of her stories to make it an absolutely wonderful experience for the reader.

Bravo Ms. Glenn, for providing us with a sensual, heartfelt story about conquering ones fears and biases to embrace an everlasting love that fills the heart and soul. I would definitely recommend His Dirty Little Secret to my friends.

My Summer of Wes by Missy Welsh is an enormously appealing novel of self discovery and first love.

Wes Kinney moves in next door to Mal Small, and Mal’s boring and vanilla world is about to get a whole lot more exciting. After spending his high school years friendless and the target of bullies, Mal jumps at the chance to make friends with someone who does not know anything about his past. What begins as friendship quickly turns to lust and then love as Mal slowly discovers his feelings for the openly gay Wes are definitely more than platonic.

Ms. Welch's debut novel is refreshingly free of angst and conflict but packed with a lot substance. My Summer of Wes is fast-paced, compelling, and impossible to put down. Ms. Welsh has incredible character development, and Wes and Mal are a delightfully lovable and irresistible couple. The secondary cast of characters (with a few notable exceptions) is just as charming as Mal and Wes. The Kinney family is close, and the interactions between Wes, his parents, and siblings are heart-warming. Mal’s parents are cold, distant, and conservative but Mal matter of factly accepts them as they are and quickly finds himself warmly welcomed into the Kinney household.

The relationship between Mal and Wes is a true romance, and the love they feel for one another leaps off the pages. Mal has no sexual experience but Wes finds him to be an eager pupil, and the resulting sex scenes are frequent, varied, and deliciously HOT!

My Summer of Wes by Missy Welsh is an emotionally rewarding, uplifting, humorous novel. I absolutely adored this book, and you will too.

Out of the Darkness by Kate Sherwood is the aptly titled, extraordinarily magnificent sequel to Dark Horse. I was awaiting this novel with much anticipation, and it exceeded every expectation I had for it.

Evan Kaminski and Jeff Stevens have been couple for several years, but they have both fallen for Dan Wheeler, and the three of them are now involved in a ménage. Dan’s former lover, Justin, died following a riding accident, and Dan moved from Kentucky to California to begin a new life. Dan is still struggling to overcome his grief, and while he has feelings and an intense sexual attraction for Evan and Jeff, he is trying to find his place with the couple. He has his doubts about the ménage working out, and he often feels like he is on the outside looking in. Jeff is a steadying influence on both Evan and Dan, and he is often the voice of reason in the relationship. Evan is definitely intense, and he feels all emotions strongly. His jealousy of Dan’s relationship with other men drives Dan to try to end the relationship with both Evan and Jeff.

As was the case with Dark Horse, Out of the Darkness is told from Dan’s perspective in present tense. From my previous exposure to Ms. Sherwood’s unique writing style, I expected the present tense writing, and as before, I found it helped to pull me into the story.

Out of the Darkness is not as dark or deeply emotional as Dark Horse but it is just as powerful. Ms. Sherwood is a master at character development, and Dan, Evan, and Jeff are continually evolving. All of the characters are well-developed and likable. Many of the secondary characters, including Chris, Robyn, and Tatiana are back, and there are some new characters added in as well. We get to meet Jeff’s thoroughly charming and adorable mom, Anna, as well as some of Evan’s school friends, and an old friend of Jeff’s, Taylor. Evan’s friends, Blaine, Amanda, and Monica, and Taylor are the catalysts for some of the new issues facing Dan, Evan, and Jeff. Ms. Sherwood’s sharp wit perfectly balances the more somber moments of the novel and figures predominantly in conversations between Dan and Chris. The sexual tension between Dan, Evan, and Jeff is higher than ever, and the sex scenes between them are highly erotic and blazing hot.

Out of Darkness by Kate Sherwood is an outstanding conclusion to Dan, Evan, and Jeff’s love story. I highly recommend both it and Dark Horse. Ms. Sherwood has firmly established herself as one of my favorite authors, and I cannot wait to read her next novel.

Gayday! Gayday! is one of the Lust Bites short stories from Total-E-Bound. The author, Kim Dare, is a master at writing sexy short stories. How she packs into so few words such levels of drama, suspense, emotion and sex and then wraps it all up so beautifully in a happy ending is amazing to me. Using Gayday! Gayday! to replace the universal distress call of Mayday! Mayday! in this story is brilliant.

In Gayday! Gayday! Rip, a gay submissive, gets in way over his head at a BDSM club, grabs a phone and calls his Dominant straight friend to rescue him. Slade saves the day and thinks everything is taken care of. Rip really, really enjoyed being corrected and rescued by the straight Dom and would like to do this again and again.

This is a fun and sexy read that anyone who loves m/m romance is sure to enjoy.

About Last Night is my first read from Rhonda Leah and it won't be my last. It was an absolute pleasure to read and I loved every minute of it!

Tanner is Misty's modern day knight-in-shining-armor, repeatedly coming to her rescue. Since he's her brother's best friend (and she's always had a crush on him), she lets him. Things only get better from here, trust me.

I'm very impressed with Rhonda Leah and it looks like she's going to be one of my "Don't Miss" authors. This book is sexy, comfy-cozy and just plain awesome! I don't think it's too explicit, nor overtly sexual, but simply perfect. About Last Night has plenty of romance and it's not a sex, sex, sex kind of book. I think it's well written and I very much look forward to my next Rhonda Leah book!

Friday I’m in Love by Mari Carr is my favorite novel in the Wild Irish series.

Ewan Collins has been in love with Sky Mitchell’s (from Ruby Tuesday) friend, Natalie Miller for three years. He quickly sees she is not herself during her current visit and embarks on a series of life lessons to help pull her out of her doldrums and hopefully take his rightful place in her heart. Natalie is brash, confident, and used to living her life on the outside of everyone else’s happy moments. She reluctantly participates in Ewan’s life lessons, and along the way, discovers that her heart is in most need of the education he is offering.

Friday I’m in Love is as much fun as the other books in the Wild Irish series, but Ms. Carr kicks it up a notch by delving into deeper emotional waters. Natalie is a complex character battling dark emotions, and Ewan’s outgoing and laid back personality perfectly complements Natalie’s more serious nature. Friday I’m in Love is highly erotic, and Ms. Carr ratchets up the sexual tension between Ewan and Natalie.

Fans of Mari Carr’s Wild Irish series find Friday I’m in Love as engrossing as I did. The other members of the Collins clan are featured, and their unconditional love and support help make Friday I’m in Love a truly magnificent novel.

To Bed a King by Carol Lynne will rip your heart out as she slowly divulges Raven’s past and the secrets that have kept Jurru alive as a country. I knew that Raven had a special story, but I had no idea how heart wrenching and intense it would be to the point that I wanted to weep for him at all the pain and anguish he’s experienced over the years.

Although Raven Stone seems easy going, sexy, and to some, a slut because he professes that his only job in life is to find a rich man to take care of him, he’s more than the shallow existence that he portrays. Below Raven’s shallow surface is a man who has been deeply scarred and does his best to hide the pain from everyone who knows him by not letting his friends or lovers too close. Abandoned at the age of three, Raven has never understood why he was unworthy of being loved and taken care of by his biological mother. In seek of answers, unfortunately what he discovers only leaves him heartbroken while sending him into a spiral of self-loathing. Even when he meets the man of his dreams, or should I say King of his dreams, Raven still considers himself unworthy of being loved by anyone, let alone, a King. Carol Lynne has weaved a story of lies and deceit that is guaranteed to make you shocked and appalled at the secrets Jurru has been hiding not only from the Crown Prince, but also from the rest of its people. I wanted to do physical harm to the evil that was praying on the people of Jurru while weeping for all of their suffering. In addition, I love when Ms. Lynne allows the other men from the series to make an appearance. I was so happy to see Brier, Jackie, Jared, and Seb in this story that I had a smile on my face the whole time while reading this titillating story. I mean, who wouldn’t love Brier. He is by far, one of my favorite characters in the Bodyguards in Love series.

To Bed a King is a heart wrenching tale of learning to trust not only oneself, but also others and feeling that you’re worthy of such trust and love. I would definitely recommend this sensual, loving, inspiring story to my friends. Brava, Ms. Lynne!

The only thing that held me together is knowing that there was another Bodyguards in Love waiting for me as my love for these characters continue to grow by leaps and bounds.

If you’re looking for a mesmerizing story, full of suspense, lies, deceit, love, anguish, pain, and healing, as lovers and friends learn to deal with the past and embrace their future, then Taming Black Dog Four is the book to read. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Seducing the Sheik by Carol Lynne is a compelling, fast-paced, sensual story about learning not only to love again, but also to trust again. Trust in oneself and trust in others.

Gavin Burk a former CIA spook is still mourning the loss of his partner who was killed by the CIA. Although he’s chosen a life of solitude, when Jack, his friend and employee of Three Partner’s Protection Agency, lands on his door step asking for a favor, Gavin has no problem saying no…at least initially. As he learns more about Prince Zahar’s problems and that it involves the CIA, Gavin can’t help but wonder if he’s been given one last chance to seek revenge and find out what happened to his partner and the love of his life…at least…that’s the plan. What he doesn’t bank on is his instant attraction to Prince Zahar, but more importantly, how it’s stronger than his love and feelings for his deceased partner. Will Gavin and Prince Zahar act on their intense feelings? Carol Lynne’s Bodyguards in Love series is like a diamond in the ruff. A precious find that once you’re drawn into the lives of these men you can’t help but make them a part of your family. There were times that I wanted to weep for Gavin and Prince Zahar as they struggled to find their way and embrace the love that was staring them in the face day in and day out. Love is a precious treasure and Ms. Lynne does a wonderful job of showing it as Gavin struggles to keep Prince Zahar alive while trying to discover exactly who’s threatening the man he’s quickly grown to love in such a short period of time.

When faced with the possibility that Prince Zahar’s brother could be the one who has set the wheels in motion for his brother to be executed, tensions rise as the men of Three Partner’s Protection devise a plan to save the Prince and Jurru’s secrets. Seducing the Sheik had me enthralled from page one. Ms. Lynne does a wonderful job of keeping you in suspense as you try and figure out who is trying to kill the Prince and why. In addition, the sexual tension between Gavin and the Prince is enough to send shivers down your spine. Although neither will admit it upfront, both of them are in love as evident by how protective Gavin is in regards to the Prince. The only question is whether or not he can come to terms with his past in order to embrace his future?

If you’re looking for a tantalizing, heartfelt love story, full of suspense, smoldering hot sex, and adventure, then Seducing the Sheik is definitely the book to read. I can’t wait for the next book in the series To Bed A King.

When I'm reading my romance, a hunky military man is right up there at the top with a cowboy and a cop. I don't know why that is, but hey, it works for me! He's handsome, self-assured, and knows how to please a lady. She's ready to take that double dare from her friend and see what he's got.

Rhonda Lee Carver quickly had me rooting for Zoe and Jag to get together. They each think they can handle a no-strings-attached fling, but then they're unexpectedly thrown together as Jag is assigned to protect Zoe from a threat. I just love it when the characters need to be professional, but the sizzling attraction between them creates so much sexual frustration, they just can't hold back. Yummy!

Double Dare by Rhonda Lee Carver is an excellent story! It's explosive and you'll want to put it at the top of your Must Read pile!

Pomme’s Review:

When I picked up Andra Speed’s Infected, I definitely did not expect to completely fall in love with the writing, the characters, and the plot.

The premise of the book is one found in many paranormal romances, but what is compelling about Infected is that it is none of those things exclusively: it is paranormal, it does have some romance, but it is not one of those cliché-ed shifter books. The world Ms. Speed creates is one with a scientific twist, where shifting is caused by a virus and there is none of the mystical rhyme usually associated with it saturating the book. It’s a dark, gritty and real disease which comes across as ugly and something of a death sentence to its carrier.

Told in the alternating limited third person points of view of either Roan, the protagonist, or his boyfriend Paris, the writing is incisive and the pace is quick. I was immediately immersed in Roan’s life and adored the way he comes across as snarky and cynical. He’s one tough cookie who knows what he wants and where he stands. He’s gay, and he’s an infected, and if anyone has anything to say then he has no qualms throwing it in their faces. I didn’t know quite what to expect when I realised Roan was already in a relationship with Paris at the beginning of the book. I couldn’t anticipate what kind of ride Ms. Speed was taking us on: was the book going to be driven by a disintegrating romance? Was it going to be mainly the mysteries that come across Roan’s desk because he’s a P.I? She left me guessing, especially as he prose is everything but purple, and I couldn’t put the book down.

The book itself is divided into two stories, ‘Infected’ and ‘Prey’, which each revolve around a case of Roan’s: they stand independently, but by the end of them both I realised that Infected is not about the romance or about the mysteries... It’s really about Roan: about what he feels, how he develops, what kind of man he is and is becoming. It’s very much about the way the virus affects him, and how it also makes him different from other infecteds out there.There is no information dumping at any point, and the writing flows flawlessly.

Paris, Roan’s boyfriend and assistant, is another very strong character. A born manipulator, he’s described as an Adonis who knows how to make use of his charms. While he appears as a golden boy, he’s also infected, and has hidden depths even Roan cannot fathom. His outlook on life is simply staggering, and by the second book I was as attached to him as I was to Roan. The portrayal of their relationship left me with a fuzzy warm feeling: they’re both deeply flawed and definitely not perfect, but they complement each other beautifully. Their banter is gold, and as the stories progress we get deeper glimpses into both their psyches: they are so much more than they seem. They are both emotionally wounded, but the manner in which they need and support each other, building something together when both of them almost auto-destructed when alone, echoed really strongly all throughout the book. Their relationship definitely gives an extra dimensionality to the whole Infected universe. A thing to mention is that any sex in this book is implicit: Paris and Roan share their bed together away from the reader’s eye, and that’s also something you don’t see very often in m/m books. In this case, it detracted nothing from the story or the feeling, but it’s definitely a novelty.

There are a host of secondary characters which don’t have much screen time but are expertly crafted nonetheless: the people involved in Roan’s investigations, the suspects, the the witnesses... everyone is painted three-dimensionally and in shades of grey, which is an amazing feat. The murder-mysteries were terrific and kept me guessing, especially as they were woven with Roan’s private life. I felt as if I was juggling the whole thing with him, and it’s all due to the perfect pace of the book.

There were no typos that I could find, and the layout is very pleasing to read. A point to mention would be the overall gritty feel of the book, which is not all sunshine and rainbows. It echoes the murder-mystery P.I angle extremely well, but be warned that it is not very conducive to a happily ever after atmosphere. The endings are not depressing by any mean, but, well.. They’re real, without all the loose ends tied up. It definitely left me wanting, and I wandered to the author’s website for more and devoured everything that I could find.
There are not enough words to adequately do justice: even if you can’t stand shifter books, or are not sold on the idea of a whole book without any sex, pick this up regardless. Ms. Speed’s writing alone will make you fall in love with both. and put her on your ‘favourite authors’ list.

First of all I have to say, I absolutely love Desiree Holt! So when I saw Trouble in Cowboy Boots come up for review, I snatched it up. Believe me, I was not disappointed in this fast paced little read from Ms. Holt.

She always delivers - not only feisty women who have an inner submissive longing to get out, but realistic Doms who may struggle, stumble but find their way back to their women. Wyatt is just too yummy for words and I couldn’t help but fall a bit for him myself. He takes in a stranded woman who he’s never met before rocking her world even after finding out that she lied about being able to cook. (Her not being able to cook had this reviewer wincing. I know there are women out there that don’t cook, heck I even have a sister who doesn’t but I love to cook for my man.) I also love the fact that Ms Holt didn’t make him perfect. Perhaps that’s why she’s so successful at making these characters seem real.

So if you’re looking for a steamy hot BDSM book with true life characters who each have faults but still manage to overcome them, then Trouble in Cowboy Boots is a must read. Kudos, Ms. Holt!

When I read the blurb for Ms. Stein’s Past Pleasures I was intrigued. It seemed like it would be a good read. Ms. Stein did a wonderful job sweeping me away into Kate’s story.

I loved the almost ‘innocent’ feel of how Tem and Aley reacted to Kate (to them an unknown being – after all there are no women in the future). The chemistry between the characters was great as was Kate’s moral dilemma about forsaking her mission for the chance at love. While I won’t go into the ending of the story, I just wished that Ms. Stein would’ve written more to the ending along with fleshing out Tem and Aley’s world a bit more. It left this reviewer feeling a bit unsettled.

But if you’re looking for a story that has a touch of sci-fi, plenty of chemistry and two anxious to please men, Past Pleasures is a quick read to satisfy those hungers.

Wow! Don’t you just love ménages? I know this reviewer does. Throw in the paranormal slant of Namesake and you have a winner.

Ms. Harte has done it once again. She has totally captivated me with her writing. Not only does Ms Harte build strong sexy heroines and even stronger alpha males, the world she has created in this book just speaks for itself. Even as I was whisked away by this world, the characters intrigued me more.

The feisty Vicki, who’s named after her loving grandma who can do things with her mind that are just scary, meets her perfect matches in Eric and Dom. I love the way Vicki is constantly challenging these alpha males into claiming her and taking what they want. And don’t get me started on the steam these characters generate. They are so hot they’re smoking. Add to that a cast of wonderful secondary characters… I’d love to know more about Kate and her men, if you’re reading this Ms. Harte, please hurry and write faster because this reviewer wants more.

So if you’re looking for a book that has strong characters, strong passions and a fast paced plot with a bad guy or two, Namesake is the book for you.

Lea's Review:

This is the first of Koko Brown’s books I have read, and may I say she has quite a gift for comedy.

Gideon is a 1,200 year old half human-half demon who is having some problems and signs up for ballroom dancing lessons as an outlet for his stress. Macy is a divorcee who has some self image issues and is also taking dancing lessons. The gathering where Gideon and Macy meet is hysterically funny. The description of the gathering with primarily geriatric dancers at the social had me laughing out loud.

Gideon and Macy are teamed together for a dance competition, but the dance Gideon is truly most interested in doing with Macy would be the horizontal mambo. While Gideon pursues Macy, he is being pursued by a rather crazy Voodoo Priestess, Celine.

In Carnal Moves, there are also two other story lines. One is about the abduction of children. Macy is assigned the job of doing investigative reporter work on that situation by her editor. No one will talk to her, and children continue to disappear. The other story line is about Gideon’s life as the son of the devil and third in line to the throne of Hell. The two supporting story lines were almost too huge a contrast for me from the light and humorous sections of the story.

Carnal Moves has the bones of a great story.

My Brother’s Keeper by Ali Katz is a compelling novel of family love

Teddy is fleeing from Jess and Teddy’s abusive father, John, when he comes to live with Sal Bataglia and Jess Sullivan. With time and patience, Teddy is beginning to trust Jess and Sal, and life is beginning to settle down into a routine as he slowly begins to heal. Unfortunately, their fragile peace is short-lived when John tracks down Teddy, and Sal, who is a police officer, comes home to find John assaulting Teddy. John’s subsequent arrest puts into motion a chain of events which will test Jess and Sal’s relationship.

Ms. Katz skillfully tackles the complicated and emotionally charged issues of child abuse, sexual identity, and social work with a very realistic approach and without descending into angst. Ms. Katz does not present quick or easy fixes to the problems facing Sal, Jess, and Teddy, and that is what makes this novel so appealing. Jess and Sal’s relationship is pretty solid but, like most couples under strain, they discover problem areas that begin to crack from the pressure they are under.

All of Ms. Katz’s characters are well-developed and engaging. The interactions between Sal and Jess, and their neighbors and tenants, Beth and Carmen, provide many of the novel’s light-hearted moments. Despite his issues, Teddy is a likeable and sympathetic character. The strongest element of My Brother’s Keeper is Jess and Sal’s partnership. They are a fantastic couple who deal with their problems, for the most part, head on. The sex scenes between Jess and Sal are tender, sometimes funny, and always smoking’ hot.

My Brother’s Keeper by Ali Katz is a superb novel with a lot of heart.

Sofi's Review:

I found this a much deeper, more satisfying read than A Pint Light. The characters are just as interesting, and I get to know them a little better this time. I was pleased to be able to spend time with them. Seth is a great contrast of dominating male; all protective and surly at the same time, and he manages to convey just the right amount of uncertainty to balance Kyrian's giving personality.

I felt a little bit like there was more to the plot that i had missed from a previous book, though I don't think there was any other book involving the demons and angels. I'm not sure. Even with that, Ms. Rhodes has done a fair job of making sure we get all the information we need to understand the story. As with the first book, I think she could have gone into much more depth in many respects and the story would be a richer, more compelling experience. It isn't because it's hard to understand or because we don't get to know the characters enough. It's because she'd done such a good job of drawing a compelling picture it would be wonderful to get lost in her world and her characters lives.

I thought the climax showed off Kyrian's abilities and strength nicely, rounding out his character and giving him the backbone to be a good mate for Seth. I enjoyed the humour she interlaced throughout the book. This was definitely a fun, entertaining read.

His Perfect Partner by Trina Lane is a charming love story with a nice happily ever after ending. Although it is the second book in the Perfect Love Series, it can be read as a standalone novel.

Ethan Harrison is a lawyer working in the US Attorney General’s office in Boston, and Ryan Ashton is an FBI Agent. They meet when Ryan turns the case he has been working on over to Ethan for prosecution. Sparks fly at their first meeting, and when they unexpectedly run into one another outside of the office, their relationship quickly becomes romantic, but it does not take long for lust to turn into love.

His Perfect Partner is an entertaining quick read. The characters are well-developed and very likable. There are a few editing errors but the plot is solid. The suspense angle to the story falls a little short of the mark, but the love story between Ethan and Ryan is enjoyable, and the sex scenes are hot. The only real conflict in the book is the fact that Ethan’s family does not accept that he is gay, but Ryan’s family welcomes Ethan with open arms. The interactions with Rick, Conor, and Calleigh, from the first book in the series, The Perfect Union, were heartwarming and humorous.

If you are a fan of love stories with perfect heroes, then you won’t be disappointed in His Perfect Partner by Trina Lane. I am looking forward to the next book in the Perfect Love Series.

The Soldier’s Mate is Cooper McKenzie’s prequel to The Billionaire’s Mate.

This is a fast paced story about a 20 year military man retiring to North Carolina after finding and courting his mate through e-mail and on-line chatting. When they first meet face to face and Nick refers to Angel as his mate, she considers that to be a term of affection, not realizing that he is a shape-shifter. As the surprises in her life continue to unfold, Angel learns there are other shape-shifters in the area who may not be happy to have Nick stay around.

The Soldier’s Mate is about 73 pages long, so it is definitely the perfect length for a leisurely afternoon read. There are sex scenes on a desk, the hood of a car, against a wall, and on a chair as well as the more traditional bed. If you are looking for a light, enjoyable read, this may be just the story for you.

Annabel Joseph has once again written an amazingly intense and exhilarating novel. Powerful in presenting the lives of adults living a life imbued in varying levels of BDSM and rich in emotion and drama, Comfort Object is sure to become a favorite read for those who enjoy a book of great depth and substance.

Nell is the heroine of Comfort Object. Nell leads her life in straightforward acceptance of who she is. She knows what she needs in her life to feel fulfilled sexually, but it is the balance of the sexual and emotional needs that creates angst for Nell. I was pleased to see a BDSM heroine presented as well educated and intelligent. The books and stories Nell shares with Jeremy support the plot in a beautiful way and add another layer of enjoyment to this work.

Jeremy is a movie start and a Dom. He needs a woman who will be submissive sexually when they are alone together and appear vanilla to the public. Kyle and Jeremy manipulate Nell’s life to pressure her into taking the position. Jeremy is hard on himself because he feels responsible for things beyond his control and, while the rest of the world may see him as desirable and perfect, his self-image is one of perversion. His life is dangerously unbalanced and he can’t seem to grasp what or who it is who has the power to save him.

There are no superfluous characters in this book. Martin, the attorney, Kyle, Jeremy’s personal assistant, and the crazy stalker all play an important role in the development of the plot in Comfort Object.

Just as I don’t understand why a person well aware they don’t enjoy westerns would read a cowboy story and then complain that the characters ride horses, I am confused by those who would pick up a book clearly labeled as having BDSM elements and complain about the BDSM scenes in the story. Please understand that there are medium and a few strong BDSM scenes in Comfort Object. If that does not appeal to you just step away from the book. There are many of us who do enjoy it.

In summary, if you are not comfortable reading about BDSM situations, this is not the right book for you. However, if you enjoy a passionate book with a mature and sexy couple comfortable with their sexual needs, and if you are looking for a book with a plot and characters that will stick with you for a very long time, Comfort Object is the very next book you should read.
